Grey, the inclosed copy of a despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong, on the subject of the proposed Convention between Great Britain and Japan for the protection of trade-marks.

2. I am to inquire what answer should be returned to Sir F. Lugard's request.

With reference to the Confidential Foreign Office Print of the 17th February last, I have the honour to request that the proposed Convention between Great Britain and Japan for the protection of trade-marks may be, when drafted, referred to the Government of this Colony for the opinion of its merchants and traders.
